Event

This is not a Convention.

No, this is a single day market event.

Though we may provide additional activities or attractions, it is primarily focused on the Market experience.

Seating, facilities, and other amenities may be more restricted than expected, if you have attended similar events before.

Inappropriate behaviour and Harassment

We have a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour and harassment at our events.

If you experience or witness any form of harassment, please report it to event staff immediately.

All reports will be taken seriously and handled with confidentiality.

Theft and Security

We have a zero-tolerance policy for theft and security breaches at our events.

If you experience or witness any form of theft or security issue, please report it to event staff immediately.

However, we cannot guarantee the security of personal belongings, so please take necessary precautions as you would in any public space.

Attending and Travel

Tickets & ID

Purchasing a ticket is done through our online platform Humanitix. You can buy a ticket here.

On the day simply bring your ticket and ID for entry. The ticket can be on your phone, or printed out.

Valid ID includes:

  • Driver's License
  • Passport
  • Proof of Age Card

Refunds and Cancellations

You will be able to cancel your ticket at any time via the Humanitix website, app, or by contacting us directly.

Refunds will not be eligible 14 days before the event.

If the event is cancelled, refunds will be issued according to the Humanitix refund policy.

You are not eligible for a refund if you do not attend the event.

Travel and Parking

We have an information page available for travel and parking details. See the travel page here.

We suggest coming by Public Transport if possible. Heading to the event by car may result in limited parking availability.

The best station to arrive at is New Market station. Then take the Tram west to stop #32 (closest to shops) or #33 (closest to entry), just outside the showgrounds.

Age Restrictions

MFMM is a All-Ages event

We require that attendees prove their ID on the day (or will not be allowed entry).

Important!: Under 16's are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If you or your child/ward is lost, please contact event staff immediately.

Barred Attendees

Some individuals may be barred from attending the event due to previous misconduct or violations of event policies.

Individuals may also be barred from attending if requested by a Trader or Attendee in writing, before the event.

To request a block on a person or persons, please email us directly.

There must be a valid or legal reason given. If approved, the individual(s) may be barred from attending the event.

Important!: We cannot guarantee the enforcement of blocks requested after the event has started.
(For example; Individuals may attend with false names, or may be missed due to human error.)
Though we will take all reasonable steps to enforce blocks, we cannot ensure complete compliance.

Costumes

Are costumes allowed?

Yes!

This year costumes are encouraged and welcomed.

Bulky or obscuring costumes will not be allowed in the trading area for safety reasons.

Please ensure they are appropriate for all ages.

Costume and Prop Storage

This year we will have a costume prep area, and minimal storage area for large props (If you can avoid bringing large items that is encouraged).

Important: Minors will not be allowed in the costume area.

Larger items can be stored in the costume area, within reason. We cannot guarantee the safety of stored items, and are left there at your own risk.

Costumes in the trade hall?

We encourage you to do your shopping, then costuming, to make it easier on other attendees.

Light and mobile costumes are allowed in the trade hall.

However, if your costume is large, cumbersome or obscuring, it won't be allowed in the trade hall.

Any obscuring headwear must be removed before entering the trade hall.

Ammenities

Toilets

Toilets are available across the boulevard in the main building*.

(*If another event is using the space, we will hire additional facilities on-site.)

Medical Assistance

Minor medical assistance will be available on-site at the event desk.

Quiet Spaces

This year there is only a single, large pavillion. As such there is no dedicated quiet space available.

If you find you are overwhelmed, please come to the event desk and we can bring you into the staff area for a break.

Traders

Becoming a Trader

You can apply to become a trader by proceeding through an application on our website.

Once you've applied we will review your application and get back to you with the next steps.

Though we have a lot of room, we don't want to overcrowd the event, and to make sure there is broad range of traders, we may limit the number of applications accepted.

Regular contacts and information

Once you have an active trader profile, you will gain access to the Trader information page, chat platforms and email updates.

You will need to make sure you pay attention to emails, as it will be the primary form of contact for the event.

Assistants and Helpers

Each trader is allowed to have a single assistant/helpers to support them during the event. You'll be able to register their details through your application.

If you require more than one assistant/helper, please contact the event organizers for approval.

Assistants and helpers must adhere to the same rules and guidelines as traders.

Assistants do not need to register their own ticket.

Desposits, Cancellations and Refunds

Traders will be able to cancel up to 4 weeks (32 days) before the event, for a full refund.

After 4 weeks, cancellations will not be eligible for a refund.

Full payment of an invoice is required to guarantee you space.

When traders receive an invoice, they will have 3 weeks (21 days) to pay the full amount.

If it is within 4 weeks of the event, you will need to pay the full amount immediately.

(In the event of a processing or administrative error, your payment may be refunded.)
